Has the novelty of the Metro tunnel ads worn off yet? It seems so at WMATA. The tunnel between Metro Center and Gallery Place features an animated ad for ABC’s TV show Daybreak. It’s been there for a while (since November?). But, the worst part is that the show has already been cancelled and isn’t even on TV anymore!
In case you are a fan of the cancelled TV show: Earlier this month, it was announced that the remaining episodes of the show will be posted on abc.com’s website as streaming video.
YWCA Building Up For Sale In Gallery Place (624 9th St NW)
Andy in PQ sends us another hot item for today: The YWCA building at 624 9th St NW is up for sale! This building is in one of the hottest locations downtown and is located directly across from one of the Gallery Place metro entrances.
The Washington Business Journal has a few words on the sale.
As mentioned last year, the YWCA was thinking about closing its indoor pool. But, two months later, they decided to keep it open. We guess that was just the start of the process that lead up to putting the building on the market.
Confirmed: Madame Tussauds And Zara To Open In Penn Quarter!
After all of the excitement from Downtown Tim’s recent rumor posting, we can now confirm that Madame Tussauds And Zara are coming to Penn Quarter! Both of the tenants will be housed in the former Woodward & Lothrop building on F Street Northwest. (between 10th and 11th St)
Other tenants in the building include H&M clothing, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the soon-to-be-open West Elm furniture store.
