The Washington Business Journal has a write-up on the new Chicago-based Protein Bar that is moving into Market Square at 7th & D St NW. Freed’s Optical is being relocated into another space in the building.
As we mentioned in last week’s heard in the ‘hood, chef José Andrés’ Jaleo restaurant (7th & E St NW) is undergoing a month-long renovation and will reopen on March 26. Andrés invites us to follow the progress on their facebook page. Day 1 looks like it consisted of furniture removal.

CityCenterDC, the huge project at the northwest corner of 9th & H St NW, seems to be coming along nicely. Workers continue building the various floors of the underground parking garage that will hold 1,555 cars!
