This blogger stopped by both establishments tonight. Bar Louie is only selling bottles as there is something wrong with the tap tonight. Working from memory, the menu looked exactly like the one from the Chicago restaurant.
Proof is also open tonight. The menu seems to be more upscale – we’ll be waiting for the foodies to recommend some dishes!

I stopped in at Bar Louie for a quick bite. Good service, average food, good tunes (Friday night volume on a Tuesday night) and nice decor.
Agreed – I went last night – great service and an interesting drink menu. If they keep it up, I think a lot of us will be regulars.
I hate to say anything negative since they are so new but I tried it out the other night and, although the food and atmosphere were great, the service did not live up to par. We got our food pretty quickly and the waiter was friendly; however, after we finished eating, we sat around for about 25-30 minutes unable to find the server in order to pay the bill.
Once we were finally able to get a glimpse of him, we noticed he was just horsing around with co-workers at the bar. After several unsuccessful attempts to get his attention, we had to look for someone else to help us. It looked at though the server may have been neglecting his other tables as well.
Although the night ended up being pretty frustrating, I’d still give it another chance because I think it is a nice addition to the neighborhood. The prices are also very reasonable.

Went to Bar Louie today and it was pretty good. It was very nice, the service was great, and the food was tasty. It’s a nice addition to the neighborhood.
