Zaytinya Chef To Open New Restaurant In PQ
The Washington City Paper (via DCist) reports that the chef at Zaytinya, Mike Isabella, will be leaving on August 7th to open up his own restaurant – also in the Penn Quarter. The article states that he expects to sign the lease tomorrow! Isabella plans on offering a Venetian version of tapas.
Penn Quarter continues to make its name as the gastronomic center of DC.
Lou Lou Boutique Opens On F St NW
UPDATE (July 2): The hours for the Penn Quarter Lou Lou Boutique are: Mon-Sat 10 am – 8 pm and Sun 11 am – 6 pm. Their phone number is: 202-737-0545.
Lou Lou Boutique in the Atlantic Building at 950 F St NW is now open although this location is not listed on their website yet. Once we know the hours, we’ll post them here with an update. We stopped by briefly and noted all sorts of tasteful women’s accessories including purses, clutches, jewelry, and scarves. The new store serves as a nice complement to the adjacent Peruvian Connection store. We think that the F in F Street NW stands for Fashion!

Downtown – Uh oh…the planned Armenian Genocide Museum at 14th and G Streets NW hasn’t even opened and it owes DC back taxes. [WaBizJo]
Affle Hop
As we noted in a tweet back on June 12th, the old Waffle Shop location has opened as yet another tourist merchandise store. We don’t know yet what happened to the planned (rumored?) PQ Tackle Box restaurant, we hope they still have plans for our neighborhood.
On Saturday we noticed that most of the letters from the old Waffle Shop sign had been removed. Perhaps the Waffle Shop’s relocation is back on track?
