Lobster & Waffles Anyone?
We received a tip from J pointing us to this update on the Downtown BID website, stating that Tackle Box will be coming to the old Waffle Shop space (522 10th St NW). That sounds like a great location for Tackle Box and also further supports the notion that Jemal’s plans for a big new building on this corner are delayed indefinitely.
In fact we noticed that the top floor of that 10th & F corner (where there was a fire last year) is now being offered as an office rental. Maybe PQ Living Enterprises will take over that location.

Awesome. We could also use another frozen yogurt place, and another 2 or 3 crepe joints.
And when are we going to get a decent Asian fusion place around here? Or some small plates? Jeez!
And the selection of cheap, disposable clothing for teenagers is going to be pathetically slim as well. I want to move to PQ so bad, but if they do something stupid and open a grocery store, well, that will be the last straw. You can just forget me ever moving there! I need cupcakes!!!
Oh no, another unique restaurant. What could be worse??? Thank God my suburban community that requires a 45-minute hellish commute to work, is congested in all the wrong ways and requires me to get into my car to go anywhere has a big box grocery store with a parking lot. Who would ever want to live in a place where you can walk out your door and be in the nerve center of DC’s most thriving neighborhood. What a wretched quality of life it must be.
Just visited Crumbs last week in NY. I am not a huge cupcake fan, and none of the shops in DC excited me. But, I really liked Crumbs and am excited they might come here. A real treat.
I also liked the fact that in NY they (have to) post the calories.

The same update says we’re getting another cupcake shop. This one is called Crumbs, and will be next to Pret A Manager.
