Neighborhood Pic: That Sauca Truck Is Everywhere
Food trucks, cafeterias on wheels if you will, seem to be sprouting up everywhere; the Sauca truck shown parked above on F Street NW at 7th Street had no shortage of lunch customers. There’s the Fojol Brothers, District Taco and Sauca trucks just to name the ones we can remember. The public can follow their favorite meals on wheels using Twitter and the operator sure saves money by not having to supply a place for patrons to sit. There’s even a food truck tracker online! Does the lunch business decline for other restaurants when the trucks park nearby?

Each of the “banned” paintings are inspired by notable “banned books”; books that have been challenged and declared as prohibited from the public by one or more authoritative body.

WaPo: Clyde’s Taking Over At 14th and F St NW
The Washington Post reported that the Borders at 14th and F St NW, formerly housing hometown retailer Garfinckels, will become a Clyde’s restaurant in 2011. The bookstore and media industries are undergoing significant change and while there was talk that TJ Maxx might have taken over the space from Borders, it looks like it will become a comfort food emporium with the additional twists of sushi, a raw bar, and live music. This Clyde’s opens up another dining option for visitors, tourists and the business lunch/dinner crowd as there are few residential buildings near that intersection but we are always happy to walk a few extra blocks to try a new place to down Wellfleets and a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc.
