Here’s what we were reading last week about neighborhood news in DC. Have neighborhood thoughts? Leave them in the comments!
Downtown – An update on the Center City project. We’re looking at 2013 for completion of just the first phase. Mega-sigh. [Life In Mount Vernon Square]
Chinatown – A few folks put on their straw hats and actually did a Barn(es) Dance in the 7th and H St NW intersection. Links include video. [Left For Ledroit] & [YouTube]
Penn Quarter – Reviews for the latest Woolly Mammoth Theatre production, Gruesome Playground Injuries, are out. [We Love DC] & [Washingtonian]
Mount Vernon Triangle – A review of Kushi (465 K St NW), the latest Japanese sushi and izakaya restaurant to open in our area. [Capital Spice]
National Mall – The Komen for the [breast cancer] Cure 5K race is this Saturday, June 5 in a loop around the National Mall. Registration is still open. [Komen for the Cure-DC]
Neighborhood Pic: Window Dressage
PQ Living hasn’t posted a Photo of the Week in a while so we’re going to retitle the series Neighborhood Pic. Regardless, this photo of an Urban Outfitters Ann Taylor Loft (707 7th St NW) employee touching up the window display caught our attention for its color texture and smile evoking nature. It made us wonder, is it live or is it Memorex?
