A few days ago we caught workers taking measurements and making preparations for the move of the old Waffle Shop facade. No one could tell us exactly when the move would take place, but workers have been on 10th ST several times in the last week.
While the neighborhood wont quite be the same without this fun building, at least you can still get the great Waffle Shop food at the Lincoln House Restaurant.
State Of Play – 8th Street Shoot
PQ Living reader Rusty caught the State of Play movie crew (there’s more information on IMDB) doing a late night shoot a few weekends ago. Russell Crowe was not spotted so we surmise they were doing nighttime transition shots. We can see it now…”Meanwhile, back on 8th Street…” Thanks for the photos Rusty!
Christo Was Here, We Think
It isn’t the Pont Neuf Wrapped nor is it a Wrapped Reichstag but this shrouded incarnation of 1199 F Street (left photo) sure makes us think Christo and Jean Claude were hanging with the construction crew. Maybe we can get Ty Pennington to bring the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition bus by to do the grand reveal. The billboard of the rendering shows the final product to be (right photo).
SmartBike Penn Quarter Location + Pic
Well, it seems that the SmartBike map, which placed the Penn Quarter location at 7th & E F St, was one block off correct. Here, we spot the SmartBike kiosk going up at 7th & F St, in front of the Reynold’s Center. We like this spot more because there is more sidewalk space.. but what does it mean for future Arts On Foot Art Market and Winter Market events?
