RSS FeedMcDonald’s Responds to Concerns about Verizon Location
I eat a lot of McDonald’s. (The $1 Sundaes are a significant part of my food pyramid.) So, when I went by the Verizon Center location this weekend and encountered a similar situation to the one PQresident wrote about earlier, I decided it was time to say something. But since I have complained before and received no response, I was shocked when I received not only the standard Mickey D’s form letter but a response from an actual human being.
It still remains to be seen if anything will come of their prompt written response, but I’m cautiously optimistic. Read the response from McDonald’s Area Supervisor Hector Garrido after the jump.
**Update** I also received a phone call from Hector Garrido. He urged me to call him if the situation did not improve. He also mentioned that the Verizon Center location is due for a rebuild slated for completion in mid-2008. Continue Reading >>

CVS At 7th & H St NW Officially Closed Today
Kevin writes in to let us know that the CVS at 7th & H St NW has finally closed. He notes that “a sign in the window says it will be replaced by a bigger, better CVS in 2010.”
The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year?
We’re no Scrooges, but we were surprised to see the Washington Welcome Center replace the Redskins display with an xmas tree (Christmas tree? Holiday tree? Dead tree? Fake tree?) so early in the year. Seeing a department store pull out the xmas holiday displays before Halloween is common practice these days, but we were still taken aback by the WWC’s display with more than 2 months remaining till xmas.
Hell they should at least wait till after the Drag Race!
