RSS FeedD’Acqua "Dives" Into Penn Quarter (801 Penn Ave)
Celebrated chefs Francesco Ricchi and Enzo Febbraro (former executive chef at Filomena) are thrilled to announce their latest endeavor, D’Acqua, opening in Penn Quarter by mid-December. D’Acqua, which means “from the water,” is a modern Italian seafood restaurant inspired by their varied cooking styles – Northern (Ricchi) and Southern (Febbraro).
Located at 801 Pennsylvania Ave. NW (former Signatures space), will be open continuously through lunch and dinner. A condensed menu is available at the bar, and a late night menu is also offered – perfect for a post-theatre snack. During the warmer weather, D’Acqua will seat 100 people on the patio.

First Date Places
Full of restaurants, a museum or two and the home of the Wizards and Capitals, the Penn Quarter is a great place for a first date. What are your favorites? Here are a few worth considering…
1. Poste – The outdoor courtyard in summer and the indoor bar/lounge in winter are not too noisy and always have a well mannered crowd.
2. PS7s – The lounge in the right half of the restaurant has lots of couch space, friendly bartenders and some great wines. Usually not crowded. Check out the Little Sins and the Big Sins, aka dessert.
3. Portico Cafe (Reynolds Center/American Art Museum/NPG) – Only Open During Nice Weather – Nothing better than a coffee overlooking F Street after gazing at some art. You may have to wait for a table.
House Of Blues Signs Letter Of Intent On District Location
Maisha sends us word that The House Of Blues is looking to open up a venue in the District. Guess where they’re looking? 
From the WaPo article: The Los Angeles firm signed a nonbinding agreement five months ago to develop the complex at Fifth and I streets NW.
