Grammar.police (via DCist) had a nice post informing us that Penn Quarter’s very own Numark Gallery (625-627 E St NW) is closing. We’re not sure what will become of the gallery space but we’re sad to see one of DC’s largest and best galleries moving on!

Opining On Oyamel’s Opening
Oyamel (401 7th St, NW) is expected to open in the old Andale space in January of 2007. It is moving from Crystal City.
Swimming Stays Solvent
The Gallery Place YWCA (624 9th St, NW) pool closing was staved off and will stay open as long as membership levels are retained. Thanks Otavio for letting us know.
Restaurants Regale
PS7 (777 I St, NW) is now open. So is the Willard Room (1401 Penn Ave, NW). Get your eat on !
600 Mass Ave Passes Another HPRB Milestone & 709-711 D St Action (Union Hardware)
During the October 5, 2006 meeting of the Historic Preservation Review Board (HPRB), the 600 Mass Ave mega-project passes another milestone:
- 600 Massachusetts Avenue, NW (609-631 I Street, NW), HPA #06-289, concept/demolition, new construction.
The board approved the staff report including conceptual approval with suggestions for further refinements. Vote 6-0.
We think the developer is frequently improving their design because the project details are voted on at almost every HPRB meeting.
